The Yukon is gearing up to host a series of significant conferences and meetings, showcasing its capacity for hosting major gatherings and creating valuable opportunities for local businesses to shine.
In May, the Government of Yukon will co-chair the annual meeting of Federal, Provincial and Territorial Culture and Heritage Ministers in Whitehorse. Concurrently, Dawson City will host the International Gold Show, drawing attention to the region's rich mining heritage.
June is set to be a bustling month, with Premiers from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon converging to discuss regional priorities at the Western Premiers’ Conference, which will be hosted by Premier Pillai in Whitehorse. This meeting coincides with the International Conference on Mars Polar Science and Exploration 2024 and the 13th International Conference on Permafrost, establishing the Yukon as a hub for scientific discourse and exploration. The month will culminate in the vibrant Adäka Cultural Festival at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre, celebrating Indigenous culture and artistry.
Continuing the momentum into July, the Government of Yukon will co-chair a meeting of Federal, Provincial and Territorial Ministers of Agriculture Whitehorse, highlighting the region's agricultural potential and sustainability efforts.
September will bring another highlight as the Banff Forum convenes in Whitehorse, bringing together leaders and innovators to discuss national and global issues.
The Government of Yukon encourages local businesses to prepare for these events, harnessing the collective Yukon spirit to make this summer season one to remember.

The Yukon continues to experience growth in the number of meetings and conferences being hosted in the territory that’s very encouraging. While the Canadian Business Events sector continues to rebuild, 2023 in Yukon was yet another banner year for economic impact at over $6.5 million. From April to December 2023 the territory had over 42 meetings and conferences with over 2,100 visiting delegates. Yukon's cache as a 'bucket list destination' strengthens our position in the Business Events market as the industry seeks attractive, accessible and affordable destinations to host their meetings and conferences. The Yukon Convention Bureau is excited for new developments that ensure Yukon’s continued successes in the future.
