Public art competitions

We promote the appreciation of visual arts in Yukon by putting artwork in public spaces. We run art competitions for public buildings, parks and other spaces. These opportunities will be posted below as they open.

To be notified when a new competition is posted, email arts.yukon@gov.yk.ca, or phone the visual arts project coordinator: 867-667-5941.

Future competition: Yukon Permanent Art Collection

The Friends of Yukon Permanent Art Collection society holds a call for submissions each year. The next call for submissions will open in winter 2020–21.

Past competition: 2020 Tourism Banners

About the project

The Tourism Banners showcase local artists. Their artwork presents authentic and original depictions of Yukon, reflecting a vibrant and exciting place.

The last banner art was chosen in 2017. These banners inspired viewers with beauty, playful honesty and offbeat energy. They welcomed visitors and celebrated Yukon's vibrant visual art legacy.

The artwork of the 2020 banners will creatively show how Yukon is an unparalleled place to visit.

If you have questions about this project, email erin.corbett@gov.yk.ca or phone 867-667-5941, or toll free: 1-800-661-0408 ext. 5941
