A state of emergency was declared on March 27, 2020. It was extended for another 90 days on June 12, 2020.
Health care
- From Wednesday, August 19, to Tuesday, August 25, we tested 116 people at the Respiratory Assessment Centre in Whitehorse.
- Anyone who does not feel well should check the COVID-19 list of symptoms on Yukon.ca, complete the online assessment tool and get tested if it’s recommended.

- To help Yukoners at risk during this pandemic, vulnerable populations can now access mental health and social supports online.
Travel and borders
- Canada and the U.S. have extended border closures to non-essential travel until September 21.

- Residents of BC, Nunavut, NWT and Yukon are allowed to travel back and forth without the need to self-isolate for 14 days,
- Individuals entering Yukon’s airports must wear a mask and the Government of Canada will now require temperature screenings for all passengers.
Businesses and financial relief

- Residential tenants who are under a health protection measure after June 25 or who need to breach their tenancy agreement because they are under a COVID-19 health protection order are protected from eviction.

- Yukon’s Chief Medical Officer of Health is recommending to the Department of Education that children age 10 and older wear non-medical masks where physical distancing cannot be maintained.
