We're making a 3rd and final call for proposals for research that supports the Yukon’s recovery from the direct and indirect impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The call for proposals is open to all applicants who are interested in addressing 1 or more of the questions listed in the call for proposals document. The questions start on page 4. You can address them either fully or partially.
The document also includes instructions on how to apply.
Targeted call for proposals
We're calling it a targeted call for proposals because we’re looking for projects that address specific gaps in information about the pandemic recovery in the Yukon.
The research we fund under this call will be fairly short term. We encourage you to scale your research focus and process to fit within the available time.
This is our 3rd and final call under the COVID-19 Recovery Research Program.
Who can apply
We welcome applications from leads and research teams in a range of organizations including:
- federal, territorial and municipal governments;
- Indigenous governments and organizations;
- universities and research institutes;
- independent researchers;
- businesses and industry organizations; and
- non-profit organizations.
Available funding
Up to $75,000 per project.
Choose a research mode
We recognize the need for Indigenous self-determination in research and the important role that Yukon First Nations play in research to make sure the results support and advance wellbeing in their communities. This includes:
- shaping research carried out by others; and
- leading research projects according to their own traditions.
This program recognizes a spectrum of participation that:
- reflects how communities choose to take part in research; and
- emphasizes the importance of engaging communities at the start of a project to select the mode that best fits the project and end-users’ needs.
In your application, you must choose a research mode that aligns with how you’ll conduct your project. These are the 3 modes you need to choose from:
Indigenous-led
Projects are led, developed, designed and implemented by Indigenous organizations or researchers.
Partnership-based
Projects are co-developed, co-designed and co-produced by project partners including researchers and knowledge-users.
Researcher-led
Projects are led by researchers who are based in a single organization, such as a government, business or an academic or a non-profit body, and may be co-developed or co-designed but are not co-implemented.
Read the research modes information sheet [S1] to learn more about the modes and to understand how we’ll evaluate each one.
