All practical nurses in Yukon must hold a licence.

Apply for an inactive licence if you wish to maintain your standing as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in Yukon, but will not actively practise.

We accept and process inactive LPN applications on an ongoing basis. However, you must renew your inactive licence every year. All LPN licences expire annually on January 31.

    Eligibility

You are eligible to apply for a LPN inactive licence if you  hold a current LPN full licence in Yukon.

If you’ve had any complaints, disciplinary or criminal action against you, please note:

    • we will assess your eligibility for registration or licensure on a case-by-case basis; and
    • you may not be approved for registration or licensing.
