  1. Determine if you are eligible

All general dentists and dental specialists working in Yukon must hold a licence and renew it every year.

    Renewal period

All dentist and dental specialist licences expire annually on March 31. Submit your renewal application before March 1. This will ensure we can process your application before your licence expires.

It is illegal to work in the new licence year before we have renewed your licence.

    Eligibility

You are eligible to renew a resident or a non-resident general dentist or dental specialist licence if you meet all of the following requirements.

    • You hold a current resident or non-resident general dentist or dental specialist licence for Yukon.
    • You have met all continuing competency requirements.
    • You complete steps 2 to 6 of this renewal application process.
  2. Complete the renewal application form

Complete all sections of the renewal application form. At the top of the application form, choose whether you are applying for a general or specialist renewal, or both. You must also select resident or non-resident licence.

Do not leave a section blank. You may enter “not applicable” when it is relevant. We may return incomplete applications.

  3. Provide proof of continuing competency requirements

Read the continuing competency guide for full instructions, details and examples.
