Working with your community
Your community can apply for FireSmart funding. Work with the following groups to identify areas where your community to take action.
- Community association
- First Nation
- Local Advisory Committee
- Municipal government
- Help your community group work with us to conduct a wildfire assessment. This will help identify priority areas.
- There are many factors that affect the spread of wildfire in a community such as landscape, vegetation, community layout, building layout and building material.
- Your community can apply for FireSmart funding to remove forest fuels
Practices that help protect your personal property will also help protect your community.
