Great Yukon Summer

Residents travelling within Yukon generate much-needed revenue for Yukon businesses in the travel, entertainment and hospitality industries. These local business have been some of the hardest hit by COVID-19 impacts. 

This summer, help support this sector by:

  • discovering or revisiting our world-class cultural and outdoor experiences; or
  • hosting or enjoying festivals and public events. 

We're currently working on several initiatives as part of the Great Yukon Summer. We'll add programs to this page as they're announced. 

Funding for events and festivals

This 1-time fund is for public events to be held in Yukon between June 21 and September 30, 2021.

A minimum of $250,000 is available. Eligible applicants may receive up to 80 per cent of eligible expenses, to a maximum of $15,000.

Additional support through Arts Fund and Arts Operating Fund

Up to $250,000 will be offered as top-up funding to the organizers of events already receiving support either through the:

Yukoner Travel Rebate Program

Apply for a rebate on your Yukon experience

Yukon residents are eligible for a 25 per cent rebate on packaged tourism experiences taken between June 4 and September 30, 2021.

This offer is limited exclusively to Great Yukon Summer packages listed on Eligible packages will be available starting June 4, 2021. Travel packages start at $250 per person.

The deadline to apply for rebate is October 31, 2021.

Yukon tourism businesses and operators are eligible for up to $2,000 to develop advertising creative to market their tourism experience packages offered as part of the Great Yukon Summer.
