The Dawson City Airport runway will be closed for paving from 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019, until midnight on Sunday, May 26, 2019. These dates and times are tentative and will be dependent on weather. During the closure no airplanes will be arriving or departing but helicopters will continue operating from the Dawson City Airport.
Travellers are urged to contact airlines directly for further information and flight availability.

These improvements will reduce wear and tear on airplanes and other equipment and maximize economic development opportunities in Yukon.

Skookum Asphalt Ltd. was awarded the $9.9M project which includes apron and taxiway construction work.
Alternate medevac supports will be in place during the airport closure.
The Dawson City Airport runway was built in in the early 1930s.
The Dawson City Airport is the second busiest airport in the territory.
