Finance deputy minister departing government

Premier Sandy Silver announced today that Katherine White, deputy minister for the Department of Finance, has decided to leave the Government of Yukon for personal reasons. She has indicated that her last day with the Government of Yukon will be April 26.

This timeframe for White’s departure will allow for a smoother transition to new leadership for the department.

I would like to thank Katherine White for her exceptional knowledge, service and leadership. She has been an important mentor to me personally and to our government.

Katherine has led the Department of Finance through a time of considerable change in recent years as it has increasingly played a more strategic leadership role for the government. She has been instrumental in leading significant government initiatives including the Financial Advisory Panel and the development of the framework for the carbon price rebate.

I wish Katherine the best in her future endeavours.
