New Procurement Business Committee to advise on improvements

Yukon’s new Procurement Business Committee will foster collaboration with industry associations and First Nations development corporations as the Government of Yukon launches its modern procurement framework.

This Yukon-wide advisory group will ensure community businesses and First Nations development corporations have a voice in developing and implementing procurement improvements.

The Procurement Business Committee’s first tasks will be reviewing a modern, flexible procurement policy and giving feedback on how the Government of Yukon is using First Nations participation and northern knowledge and experience criteria in value-driven tenders.

As changes are made, the committee will help the Government of Yukon evaluate the procurement improvement results through December 2019.

This is another step towards improving procurement. We want to hear from businesses and First Nations development corporations how to best implement changes. Our goal is to ensure our spending supports the efficient delivery of public services and boosts economic benefits for all Yukoners.
