Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources Ranj Pillai today released the following statement about Goldcorp’s Coffee project and its review status with the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB):
This week, I fielded several questions from mining companies and industry associations that have arisen from media coverage of the YESAB review process for Goldcorp’s Coffee project and the Adequacy Review Report that was released on February 7, 2018.
I have full confidence in the YESAB process and Goldcorp to see a full and proper review of this project take place. I want to assure everyone who has reached out to my office that the application remains active and has not been discontinued. YESAB has asked Goldcorp to provide more information as part of its adequacy review process. This is a normal part of that process.
