Statement from Premier Sandy Silver on the 2021 federal election

Premier Sandy Silver has issued the following statement:

“Congratulations to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, the Liberal Party of Canada and all Members of Parliament for their successful election outcome.

“As we continue our strong partnership with the federal government, we will move forward together in addressing the pandemic, climate change, our economy and issues that matter to Yukoners.

“I also want to congratulate Dr. Brendan Hanley for his successful bid to represent Yukoners in Ottawa.

“I am confident that Dr. Hanley’s strong commitments to reconciliation, health care expertise and his strong ability to communicate with compassion will benefit all Yukoners and Canadians.

“All the candidates who stepped forward to participate in yesterday’s election should be proud of their contribution to democracy. Yukoners’ diverse opinions and ideas were well represented.

“We are ready to roll up our sleeves and continue working with our federal partners to deliver on commitments that are important to Yukoners.”
