Statement from Premier Sandy Silver on Canada Day in the Yukon

Premier Sandy Silver has issued the following statement:

“This weekend Yukoners and Canadians across the country will be celebrating Canada Day. For the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we be able to gather in person with our friends, family and as a northern community to celebrate our country.

“Canada Day is an opportunity to recognize the diversity of our territory and country, and to reflect on the opportunities that this country continues to provide Canadians. It also provides a moment to reflect on where we have been as a nation, where we are today and how we can continue to honour our shared values to make our country stronger for future generations.

“This Canada Day I encourage Yukoners, and all Canadians, to take a moment to recognize our country, its rich history and celebrate the contributions that Canadians from coast to coast to coast make to the vibrancy of our country and the world.

“I am excited to join the celebrations at home in Dawson City and wish all Yukoners across the territory a safe and happy Canada Day.”
