Joint news release with United Way
The Government of Yukon will host the annual United Way breakfast fundraiser on September 28 at the Yukon Convention Centre from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. with all the fixings – pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, fruit, muffins, croissants, juice, coffee and tea.
This year’s Better Together theme acknowledges the efforts of dedicated volunteers, donors, businesses and the greater community who come together to support United Way Yukon. All proceeds from ticket sales, cash donations and the silent auction go to United Way to support Yukon charities and community organizations.
Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for kids and seniors. Admission for kids under two years old with a parent is free. Tickets are available online at www.unitedwayyukon.ca/2018-pancake-breakfast, in person at 305 Wood Street or at the door of the convention centre the day of the breakfast. Please bring your own mug, plate and utensils if possible, as this is a zero-waste event.
I would like to encourage all Yukoners to come out and support the United Way Breakfast on September 28. Local leaders provide the service at this great family-friendly event that brings the community together for a good cause. All the money raised stays in Yukon for Yukoners.

The Government of Yukon organizes, sponsors and provides staff volunteers to run the United Way Breakfast in partnership with local businesses, media and other sponsors. The departments of Economic Development and Community Services are the lead departments for 2018.
Last year’s United Way Breakfast raised $22,952 for Yukon charities and community groups through ticket sales and generous contributions to the silent auction.
Since 1994, the United Way Yukon has raised more than $2 million to assist local charities through a variety of fundraising activities. United Way Yukon’s mission is to improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action.
