The Government of Yukon is participating in this year’s virtual Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) annual conference, from March 8 to 11. As part of PDAC, the Government of Yukon is proud to be associated with Invest Canada North, which is a strategic mining industry-led investment attraction initiative during the annual Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada conference.

Minister of Economic Development and Energy, Mines and Resources Ranj Pillai will participate in a Ministers of Mining panel discussion where he will focus on Yukon’s competitive advantages and strong partnerships with First Nations and industry. Other panel members will include Member of Parliament for Yukon Larry Bagnell, Nunavut Minister responsible for Mines David Akeeagok, and the Northwest Territories Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment Caroline Wawzonek.

Government of Yukon officials will also attend a virtual booth to promote Yukon and provide information to potential investors. In addition, representatives will attend professional development opportunities to better understand the evolving mineral sector and showcase the territory as a world-class environmental, social and governance (ESG) investment jurisdiction.

Invest Canada North is a great opportunity to showcase Yukon’s investment potential to the world. The Government of Yukon partnered with Yukon Mining Alliance to host a series of pre-PDAC Yukon Mining Thought Leaders Panel discussions. The series included a producers panel featuring Minister Pillai, Victoria Gold CEO John McConnell and Alexco Resource Corporation CEO Clynton Nauman.

Our government is working hard to advance Yukon’s growing mineral resource sector in an environmentally responsible manner that benefits all Yukoners. Yukon is well positioned as investors display an appetite for investment opportunities in jurisdictions with strong environmental, social and corporate governance considerations. I am happy to once again have the opportunity to participate in this important annual conference to showcase and promote the Yukon as a top-tier mining jurisdiction on a global stage.
