Household income limits (HILs)

Your yearly household income must be under the following household income limits for you to apply for housing through the Yukon Housing Corporation. These thresholds are current as of September 11, 2023.

Whitehorse

  • To apply for a bachelor apartment your yearly household income must be under $54,000.
  • To apply for a 1-bedroom social housing unit, your yearly household income must be under $54,000.
  • To apply for a 2-bedroom social housing unit, your yearly household income must be under $71,000.
  • To apply for a 3-plus-bedroom social housing unit, your yearly household income must be under $84,500.

Yukon communities and rural areas

To apply for social housing in a Yukon community and rural area, your yearly household income must be under $100,632.

Affordable housing income limit (AHILs)

To be eligible for the Canada Yukon Housing Benefit and some funding and loan programs at the Yukon Housing Corporation your yearly household income must be under $125,790. If you applied on a program prior to September 11, 2023, the income limit at the time of application will be used to assess your eligibility.

Income levels by home size to be eligible for the Canada Yukon Housing Benefit

  • For a bachelor home your income must be below $64,240 per year.
  • For a 1-bedroom home your income must be below $65,400 per year.
  • For a 2-bedroom home your income must be below $80,600 per year.
  • For a 3-bedroom home your income must be below $100,280 per year.
  • For a 4-bedroom home your income must be below $101,640 per year.
  • For a 5-bedroom home your income must be below $125,790 per year.
