Housing Income Limits and Affordable Housing Income Limits

Household income limits (HILS)

Your yearly household income must be under the following household income limits for you to apply for housing through Yukon Housing Corporation. These thresholds are current as of April 2020.

Whitehorse

  • To apply for a bachelor apartment your yearly household income must be under $38,000.
  • To apply for a 1 bedroom social housing unit, your yearly household income must be under $49,500.
  • To apply for a 2 bedroom social housing unit, your yearly household income must be under $58,500.
  • To apply for a 3+ bedroom social housing unit, your yearly household income must be under $72,500.

Yukon communities and rural areas

  • To apply for a social housing in a Yukon community and rural area, your yearly household income must be under $80,104.

The affordable housing income limit (AHILS):

Eligibility for the Canada Yukon Housing Benefit and some funding and loans programs at Yukon Housing Corporation is based on a yearly household income under $103,070.

Maximum income levels per unit size for Canada Yukon Housing Benefit eligibility:

  • For a bachelor home your income must be below $51,480 per year.
  • For a 1-bedroom home your income must be below $59,320 per year.
  • For a 2-bedroom home your income must be below $68,720 per year.
  • For a 3-bedroom home your income must be below $85,840 per year.
  • For a 4-bedroom home your income must be below $87,040 per year.
  • For a 5-bedroom home your income must be below $103,070 per year.
