Travel expense purpose for the Council of the Federal meeting and Yukon Days, December 1 to 6, 2019

Purpose of the trip: Premier Silver represented Yukon at the winter meeting of Canada’s premiers in Toronto where they discussed priority items for a First Ministers’ Meeting in 2020. Areas for priority action included the investments in infrastructure in the three territories and greater support for climate action.

Premier Silver travelled on to Ottawa for trilateral meetings with federal Ministers as part of Yukon Days 2019 and for bilateral meetings with key federal Ministers as well as the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. The themes for this year’s Yukon Days discussions included First Nations language revitalization, child welfare, education and community safety.
