Purpose of the trip: The Government of Yukon’s Energy Branch was the recipient of a 2018 Energy Star Canada Award and Minister Pillai attended the awards ceremony in Ottawa to recognize his department for this outstanding achievement. He also participated in a series of meetings to develop and advance important discussions on the topics of electrical transmission infrastructure and innovation. 

In Toronto, Premier Silver and Minister Pillai attended the opening of the Toronto Stock Exchange with representatives from Yukon's mineral and exploration industry. Premier Silver delivered a keynote speech at the Empire Club on the topic of reconciliation in the twenty-first century and the economy, as well as welcome remarks at the 2017 Yukon Investment Conference. Both the Premier and Minister Pillai also attended meetings with senior executives from CIBC and BMO to discuss investment opportunities in Yukon.
