We will process complete and submitted park permit applications in 30 business days. It will take us 60 business days to process a land use permit application.
Apply for activities proposed between April 1 and March 31, of the following year. If activities occur between May 1 and September 30, we recommend that you submit your application early.
We may consult with First Nation or Inuvialuit governments if their traditional territory may be affected by the activities proposed in your application.
Application fee
- A $40, non-refundable, application fee is required.
- Applications will not be processed until payment is received.
- Payment does not guarantee an application will be approved and permit issued.
- Yukon Parks will contact applicants to process the application fee.
- For organizations primarily operated for educational, benevolent or charitable purposes or without an expectation of gain or profit, the fee to apply for a commercial or large group recreation permit or a special event permit may be $0.

Rules
Under the Parks and Land Certainty Act, when you apply for a permit we can charge you if you:
- provide false information; or
- do not provide a fact relevant to your application.
Under section 44 of the Parks and Land Certainty Act, you may have to provide security. This is to ensure you complete specific terms or conditions of your park permit.
Additional permits and licences
Depending on the activity you are undertaking or where, other permits or licences issued under other pieces of legislation may be required.
You may also need the following permits and licences.
- A campsite permit to camp at Government of Yukon campgrounds.
- A scientists and explorers licence for research.
- Approval or permit for paleontological or archaeological activities.
- An access permit for access and work within highway right-of-ways.
- A land use permit under the Lands Act for certain land use activities.
- Check with the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Board to see if your project needs to go through an environmental and socio-economic assessment.
- A Dempster Highway development permit for developing land or using motorized vehicles off-road that are not snowmobiles.
- An environmental impact screening committee process for activities at Herschel Island.
- You may have to register with Media Development for filming.
