Tagish Community Centre fire (last updated Wednesday March 12, 4:30 PM)

  • The fire at the Tagish Community Centre is under control although hotspots may remain.
  • Tagish Fire Department is monitoring the site. Please stay away from the debris area, which is cordoned off by yellow tape.
  • 28 firefighters from 5 volunteer fire departments and the SHOT team responded to the fire this morning, with no injuries reported. Yukon EMS (local Tagish responders) supported fire with medical support throughout the incident, ensuring safety on the ground.
  • Whitehorse Fire Department is on site conducting an investigation on behalf of the Yukon Fire Marshal’s Office.
