Merry Christmas to Yukoners

Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:

"Tomorrow is Christmas and, for those who celebrate, it’s a time for reflection, appreciation and connection. Christmas marks the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, a time for Christians to reflect on His principles of love, hope and salvation.

“While Christmas is a time of joy for many, it can be a difficult and lonely time for others. I encourage everyone to reach out and check in on those who may be feeling isolated or in need of support. Yukoners are known for their kindness, and this is a time to share that warmth with our communities.

“It’s not too late, for those who are able, to find ways to support local businesses, enjoy holiday markets or fairs, or simply connect with others through volunteering or gatherings throughout this holiday season. These moments help to strengthen our bonds as a community and remind us of the importance of being there for one another.

“Whether you are celebrating with family or friends or in whatever way is meaningful to you, I hope this holiday brings peace, joy and comfort. Take time to rest, recharge, and stay safe. Plan ahead and be sure to check resources like 511 Yukon if you are travelling to visit friends and family across the territory.

“On behalf of the Government of Yukon, I want to wish a very Merry Christmas to all, and best wishes for a joyful and peaceful holiday season."
