Accessibility laws that apply
Erik Nielsen Whitehorse International Airport (ENWIA) must follow the Canada Transportation Act, Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulation, Part 1 and Part 4.
Curbside assistance
Curbside assistance is available at ENWIA for passengers with disabilities upon request. Airport staff will respond to requests for assistance within 10 minutes.
To access this service, call the Security Operations Centre at 867-667-8451.
Airport staff can provide a wheelchair for any passenger requiring curbside assistance upon request, and can also assist with baggage as needed.
Departing passengers
Passengers can request assistance from the designated Curbside Zone (which includes the eastern side the access lane, accessible drop-off, and accessible parking stalls).
Arriving passengers
Your carrier may bring may bring you to the airport’s information counter. At this point, you may call and request curbside assistance to the airport curb or an awaiting vehicle.

Ground transportation
A number of companies provide ground transportation services for people with disabilities. Contact them directly.
Pet relief areas
- The indoor pet relief area within the terminal is in the Gate 1 boarding lounge.
- The outdoor relief area is south of the terminal building, outside the arrivals doors.

You can ask for wheelchair services and escort passes through your carrier.
