Land lottery in Whistle Bend, Whitehorse

We’re holding a land lottery for 86 single family lots, in Whitehorse.

The lots are located on

  • Flora Avenue, Witch Hazel Drive, Quick Street, Omega Street and Leota Street (Phase 7)

The deadline to submit your application has been extended. The new deadline to submit your application is Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 4:30 pm.

Deadline to apply

You must submit your application by Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at 4:30 pm.

Prepare your application

  1. Download and complete the lottery application form.
  2. Include the required payments.
    • Non-refundable application fee of $26.25 ($25 plus GST) by cheque, cash, debit card or credit card; and
    • $300 deposit in cash or cheque only.

Submit your application

You can submit your application at the Land Management Branch. The branch is in room 320 of the Elijah Smith Building, 300 Main Street, in Whitehorse. The branch is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. To submit your application by mail, refer to information in the lottery package.

When is the draw?

The lottery will be streamed online at 9:15 am on May 16, 2024 and can be joined through Microsoft Teams.

If you’re selected for a lot

Once we notify you of your success in the lottery, you’ll have 24 hours to accept the lot offered to you. If you do not accept the lot, you forfeit the lot and your $300 deposit.

If you accept the lot, you have 14 days from when we notify you to:

  • pay the required minimum down payment; and
  • enter into an agreement for sale with us.

Requirements for title

If you enter into an agreement for sale with us, you must meet the requirements of your contract to get title to the lot. The requirements include:

  • meeting the building commitment; and
  • paying for the lot in full.

Pick up your deposit

You, or the person you named as your representative, can pick up your $300 deposit between May 31 to June 14, 2024.

You must delegate a representative when you submit your application form. To pick up your deposit, you or your representative must:

  • present government-issued photo identification; and
  • sign for the deposit.
