The Whitehorse Walk-In Clinic is a new health care facility. The clinic serves Yukon residents who do not have a primary care provider, like a doctor or nurse.
If you already have a primary care provider, the clinic will direct you back to them.
To get a same-day appointment, call 867-471-0035 and ask for an appointment. If you come in without an appointment, a health care provider might not be available to see you.
The clinic helps people with non-urgent conditions. Our team includes:
- doctors;
- nurse practitioners;
- nurses;
- social workers; and
- office staff.
The clinic has:
- a place to sit and wait;
- a front desk;
- rooms for private appointments; and
- offices for the medical team.
Hours of operation and location
Monday to Friday, 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm (closed on statutory holidays).
Phone lines are open for calls from 8:45 am to 4:30 pm.

Walk-in clinic services
We offer the following services:
- Sickness and small injuries:
- infections;
- rashes;
- upset stomachs;
- cuts;
- burns; and
- pulled muscles.
- Simple medical procedures:
- pap smears;
- wound care;
- eye washes;
- skin checks; and
- stitch removal.
- Referrals: If you need extra tests or to see a specialist, the clinic may help you with this.
- Prescriptions: The clinic can write prescriptions for medicines. They cannot write prescriptions for strong painkillers.
Services not offered at the Whitehorse Walk-In Clinic
If you have questions, phone us or speak to your primary health care provider:
- Emergency services: Go to Whitehorse General Hospital Emergency Department or phone 911.

Medical assessments: We do not provide driver’s medicals or other medical assessments such as for immigration or insurance forms.
- Specialist care: We may refer you to see a specialist, but they do not work at our clinic.
- Scanning and diagnostics: We do not do tests such as MRI or CT scans. If you need those, we'll refer you to Whitehorse General Hospital.
- Pregnancy and birth services: If you are pregnant, talk to your doctor or go to Whitehorse General Hospital. Pregnant Yukoners can also contact the Yukon Midwifery Program or Solstice Maternity for all maternity care.
Things to know before you visit the clinic
- It's best to book an appointment because it can get busy.
- If you walk in without an appointment, we may ask you to return later the same day or at a later date.
- If you have a family doctor or nurse, book an appointment at their clinic.
- You can go to a Whitehorse pharmacy for minor health problems such as:
- Bladder infection
- Bug bites
- Cold sores
- Eczema
- Acid reflux
- Hemorrhoids
- Pink eye
- Pinworms and threadworms
- Shingles
- Sinus congestion
- Muscle strain or sprain

Are you eligible?
The walk-in clinic offers primary health care to Yukoners covered by the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan. The clinic serves patients with Canadian health care coverage and a provincial or territorial health card.
To have insurance under the Yukon Health Care Insurance Plan, you must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or have the necessary immigration status.
- Make the Yukon your permanent home.
- Be present in the Yukon for the majority of the year. If you're absent for more than six months, you must have a waiver from Insured Health Services.
New residents
If you're new to the Yukon, once you've been a resident for 3 months you're eligible for insured health services.

The walk-in clinic can only check injuries for Workers' Compensation Board claims.
