Stop, look, leave

When driving the Yukon’s highways, it’s best to pass wildlife at a safe speed. If you absolutely must stop and take a look, then follow these steps.

Stop

Stop only in places with good sight lines and pull well-off the road.

Respect the safety of other drivers by keeping the road clear.

Stay inside your vehicle to keep yourself safe. Animals can react suddenly and get aggressive.

Leave within 1 minute, for the animal’s safety.

Wildlife that gets too comfortable with people and vehicles has a higher risk of getting into collisions.

Respect wildlife and move on quickly!
