Selection process and budget

The Friends of Yukon Permanent Art Collection are a charitable, non-profit society. The society's jury makes a selection from all the eligible submissions. They ensure artworks in the collection are unique, high quality and relevant to Yukon and/or the legacy of Yukon artists.

The minimum annual budget for acquisitions is $30,000. New acquisitions are announced and exhibited each year after the jury process.

For the 2021 Call for Submissions, we increased the budget to $60,000. This call was also dedicated to Yukon artists currently residing in the territory. These changes were to better support artists who live and create work in Yukon during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Donate work to the collection

For advice about donations, contact the art curator at or phone: 867-667-5858.

The Friends of Yukon Permanent Art Collection society reviews donations under the same process as the call for submissions. Donors may be eligible to receive a tax receipt in return for their donations.
