This is a list of what we’ve been working over the past few months what we plan to do next.
The Government of Yukon has operated a website at gov.yk.ca since April 10, 1997. Now, just over 20 years later we’re rolling out a new and improved edition at Yukon.ca.
It has been over 10 years since the government has built a new website. Today we have launched Yukon.ca. This website is quite a bit different than gov.yk.ca.
During the week of January 15 to 19, 2018 we met individually with 10 people outside of government to review a private beta version of the new Yukon.ca website.
Our new government website, Yukon.ca, will be organized by the information users look for most on our website. We ran our first-ever Government of Yukon top tasks website study in spring 2015.
The last time the Government of Yukon significantly updated its website was 2007, or about a decade ago.
This post outlines some of our strategic thinking and planning with regard to measuring Yukon.ca website performance.
In 2015 we launched a new Government of Yukon phone directory. This was a searchable database designed to make it easier for users to contact the government.
This summer we reached out to Yukoners to participate in a card sort exercise. This research was conducted so we could find out how our website users would organize and name information and services on the government website.
