The public is invited to make written submissions to the Judicial Compensation Commission about how Territorial Court Judges and Justices of the Peace are paid. The Commission makes impartial decisions about salaries, pensions, allowances, benefits and other related matters.
Before the hearing
We’ll post the written submissions from the Territorial Court Judges and Justices of the Peace to Yukon.ca by July 13, 2026. Written submissions from the public are due by Friday, July 24, 2026.

The Commission will then hold a virtual public hearing at 9 am on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Should you wish to attend the hearing or for more details, email [email protected].
At the hearing
The purpose of the hearing is to provide an overview of the written submissions provided by:
- Territorial Court Judges;
- Justices of the Peace;
- the Government of Yukon; and
- the public.
The hearing provides the Commissioner an opportunity to ask questions of counsel regarding their submissions for clarification.
After the hearing
A written decision will follow the hearing, and the decision will be posted on Yukon.ca.
