Purpose of the trip: In Toronto, Premier Pillai and staff attended bilateral meetings with Ontario Premier Doug Ford, economic development stakeholders, and members of federal cabinet. Premier Pillai and Premier Ford signed a housing MOU committing their respective governments to work together on solutions related to housing development, as well as other opportunities for collaboration and cooperation at upcoming FPT meetings. In Toronto and Ottawa, Premier Pillai met with economic development stakeholders to discuss opportunities for investment in the Yukon and hear feedback. In Ottawa, Premier Pillai met with members of federal cabinet to raise issues of importance to Yukoners, including federal investment in housing and infrastructure, affordability, and immigration, among others. In Vancouver, Premier Pillai met with consular officials around opportunities for foreign investment and cooperation in the Yukon.
