Government of Yukon continues contingency plans amid Canada Post labour disruption

In light of the renewed labour disruption at Canada Post, the Government of Yukon is continuing its contingency measures to ensure Yukoners and businesses maintain access to essential cheques and payments.

Yukoners who receive government payments by direct deposit will remain unaffected and will continue to receive their funds as usual.

For those who typically rely on mail delivery, alternative arrangements have been made for:

  • picking up Yukon government-issued assistance cheques;
  • making payments to the government;
  • obtaining government-issued ID, licences and certificates; and
  • applying for Yukon student financial assistance.

Yukoners are encouraged to contact the relevant department directly or call our general information line for guidance on accessing these services during the ongoing postal service disruption.

The Government of Yukon will hold all non-essential mail until Canada Post resumes normal service. Once regular postal operations restart, mail will be sent as soon as possible.
