Lottery and tender open for new lots in Whistle Bend

One-hundred and twenty lots, including single family, multi-family and townhouse lots are being released today by public lottery in the Whistle Bend subdivision in Whitehorse, which builds on the Government of Yukon’s commitment to making land available to Yukoners.

Eighty-three single family lots are being released by lottery, with four multi-family and 33 townhouse lots being made available via tender.

Applications will be accepted until 4:30 pm on April 18, 2023. The draw will take place on April 25, 2023.

Releasing these lots now will allow purchasers to begin planning their building projects. This is the first land lottery of 2023. A lottery for lots in Yukon’s communities is expected to take place later this spring and a second lottery of Whistle Bend lots is expected later in 2023.

Our government continues to make historic investments in lot development across the territory and this is another important opportunity for Yukoners to apply for lots in Whistle Bend. Strong population growth in Whitehorse is keeping demand for land and housing high. We will continue developing and making land available in Whitehorse and Yukon communities to meet the needs of all citizens.

Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources John Streicker

The Yukon government is pleased to advance land development in Whistle Bend as a way of meeting lot demand in Whitehorse. In addition to supporting the development of Whistle Bend, we look forward to developing other areas throughout Whitehorse, guided by the City’s new Official Community Plan. Our government is working hard to increase the supply of lots for housing as well as business and economic development opportunities.

Minister of Community Services Richard Mostyn
