The Government of Yukon has appointed Doris Bill as the new Chair of the Yukon Housing Corporation (YHC) Board of Directors. The three-year term appointment was made on May 15, 2023.
Ms. Bill, former Chief of Kwanlin Dün First Nation, was born in Whitehorse and has multi-generational family roots throughout the territory. She has championed many social issues such as community safety and housing. Her diverse experience and unique insights into community housing issues will position her as a trusted and inspiring leader of the current YHC Board of Directors.
The YHC Board plays a key role in setting and monitoring the strategic direction and financial stewardship of the Yukon Housing Corporation as it works to deliver innovative housing solutions across the territory. Priorities for the Board include advancing a new five-year strategic plan, capital projects and the tabling of the Corporation’s annual report in the Yukon Legislative Assembly.
I am excited to announce the appointment of Doris Bill as the new Chair of the Board of Directors for the Yukon Housing Corporation. With her extensive knowledge and experience, we are fortunate to have Ms. Bill’s leadership strengthen our efforts to enhance housing throughout the territory. Collectively, Board members will provide guidance and strive to develop the Corporation's forthcoming five-year strategic plan. I welcome Ms. Bill and extend my gratitude to the outgoing Board members for their visionary contributions, dedication and efforts in advancing community housing opportunities in the Yukon.

Doris Bill served three terms, (2014-2023) as Chief of Kwanlin Dün First Nation.
One position is currently vacant. Any Yukon resident is eligible to apply to serve on a government board.
