New Yukon Hospital Corporation Board chair named

The Government of Yukon has named Al Lucier as the chair of the Yukon Hospital Corporation Board of Trustees effective June 1, 2021. Lucier will replace previous Chair Brian Gillen whose term expires on May 31, 2021. Lucier has been appointed for a three-year term. As Chair Lucier will continue to oversee the hospital through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Lucier brings a broad range of experience to this role, including his leadership on the development of the cannabis legalization efforts in the Yukon and his participation in a number of interdisciplinary teams, such as the FASD strategy and the Safe at Home housing strategy. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Gillen for his dedication and stewardship of the board over the past five years. It brought a level of stability to the board as they negotiated the opening of the new emergency department and began the work of building 1Health.
