The Government of Yukon is hosting the Northern Premiers’ Forum in Whitehorse, Yukon, from May 8 to 9, 2022. The Premiers of the Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut will be in attendance.
Premiers are set to discuss a variety of topics that will advance shared work to continue to build a strong, vibrant and resilient North, including Arctic security, climate change, housing, health care and public safety.
Forum discussions are also part of Premiers’ preparations to take their shared northern issues to the Western Premiers’ Conference and Council of the Federation tables later this summer.
The Northern Premiers’ Forum takes place every year with each territory hosting in rotation. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was held virtually in 2020 and 2021.
