Phase seven lottery and tender open for new lots in Whistle Bend

To address the demand for housing in Whitehorse, the Government of Yukon is investing $25 to $30 million annually to develop and release lots in the Yukon. Today, 136 lots, including single family, townhouses and multi-family lots, are being released by public lottery and tender in the Whistle Bend subdivision in Whitehorse.

As the main land developer in the territory, this latest lot release builds on the Government of Yukon’s commitment to making land available to Yukoners.

Today’s lot release includes 87 single family lots, 47 townhouses and two multi-family lots in the western area of the subdivision. Applications will be accepted until 4:30 pm on May 8, 2024. The draw will take place on May 14, 2024.

Releasing these lots now will allow purchasers to begin planning their building projects. This is the first land lottery for Whistle Bend of 2024.

As the population of Whitehorse and the Yukon grows, we continue to develop and make land available to meet the needs of Yukoners. We’re developing Whistle Bend with mixed zoning and releasing a range of lot sizes to meet this growing demand. We look forward to more Yukoners making Whistle Bend their home.

Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources John Streicker

Housing is a priority for our government, and we continue to deliver building lots year after year in advance of construction seasons. People want to make the Yukon their home and we will continue our efforts to increase the supply of land across the territory to help make this a reality.

Minister of Community Services Richard Mostyn
