Public servants recognized for excellence and innovation

On June 14, Premier Sandy Silver presented five individuals and four teams with the Premier’s Award for Excellence and Innovation.

The individual recipients are Anna Pearson, Heather Jirousek, Laura Scott, Rachel Burkhart and Shannon McNevin. The team recipients are the Civic Addressing Team, Housing Forum Secretariat, Yukon Physical Literacy Program Curriculum Development Team and the Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board Community Outreach and Education Team.

This year’s recipients and nominees represent examples of the creative, hardworking, caring people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make our territory better.  Thank you to all nominees for their commitment and leadership and congratulations to this year’s recipients.

  • The Premier’s Award of Excellence and Innovation was established in 2005 and recognizes Government of Yukon employees’ exceptional accomplishments and celebrates their talent and teamwork.

  • The recipients are chosen by the Premier’s Award of Excellence and Innovation Selection Committee which includes Government of Yukon employees from several departments and one community representative.
