Recycling Summit to be held in Whitehorse

The Government of Yukon and City of Whitehorse are co-hosting a Recycling Summit from November 1 to 3.

Yukoners are invited to an open house on November 1 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre. The open house will feature booths from local organizations, art installations, workshops and will be an opportunity for Yukoners to provide in-person feedback on Extended Producer Responsibility.

The summit will bring together organizations and Yukoners interested in recycling and waste diversion to learn more about the circular economy in the Yukon.

The Yukon continues to take steps to encourage Yukoners to recycle, reuse and reduce their waste. I encourage everyone to check out the upcoming Recycling Summit open house to learn more about how they can divert their personal waste and submit their feedback on how Extended Producer Responsibility should work in the Yukon.

Minister of Environment Nils Clarke

This Recycling Summit open house is a great way for residents to learn about Extended Producer Responsibility, waste diversion, and the steps we are taking to improve how we manage waste in the City. By learning from the organizations and individuals on the front lines, we can ensure we are making decisions that support effective waste diversion and promote a more sustainable future for our city.

City of Whitehorse Mayor Laura Cabott
