Statement from Minister John Streicker on the Yukon government being recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers

Minister responsible for the Public Service Commission John Streicker issued the following statement:

"The Government of Yukon has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2023. This marks the 10th consecutive year on the distinguished list of Canadian organizations recognized for creating great employee experiences through human resource programs and forward-thinking workplace policies. The Government of Yukon has also been recognized as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Canadians Over 40.

"As the territory’s largest employer, it is important that the Yukon government lead by example and empower a diverse workforce to support Yukoners across the territory. The Government of Yukon continues to be recognized for its exceptional health and family-friendly benefits, retirement assistance planning, and employee retention as well as supporting ongoing employee development through tuition subsidies and training opportunities.

"I’m delighted for the Yukon government team making it onto the country’s Top 100 list yet again. To be recognized at a national level for being an excellent workplace reflects the dedication and commitment of our employees to improving the lives of all Yukoners.

"The Public Service Commission works very hard to continually improve the experience that people have as employees and public servants. As we work towards the vision of the Yukon government’s People Plan and respond to an everchanging labour market, I’m excited to see how our workplace will evolve in the coming years."
