Statement from Minister Lang on Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day

Minister responsible for the French Language Services Directorate Laura Lang has issued the following statement:

”June 24 marks Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day, a long-standing French-Canadian tradition and a joyful celebration of Francophone culture from coast to coast to coast.

“Here in the Yukon, Solstice Saint-Jean offers an opportunity to experience the energy of the Francophone community. Through live performances and community gatherings organized by the Association franco-yukonnaise, Yukoners are invited to come together to celebrate, connect and appreciate the richness of this culture.

“I recognize and thank the many Yukoners who contribute to the vitality of the Francophone community in the territory. Their dedication ensures traditions like  Solstice Saint-Jean continue to grow and bring people together.

“Together, let us celebrate Yukon Francophonie and create lasting memories with friends, family and one another.

“Bonne Saint-Jean-Baptiste!”
