Statement from Premier Pemberton on his meeting with members of the Canada-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group

Premier Mike Pemberton has issued the following statement:

“On September 5, 2025, I welcomed members the Canada-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group to the Yukon.

“The group included parliamentarians from both Canada and Japan. It was a real pleasure to show them the incredible land we call home - our stunning natural landscapes, our vibrant cultures and the strong communities that make the Yukon special.

“This visit was a great opportunity to talk about our shared priorities, like Arctic security, critical minerals and the importance of building long-term relationships to support investment and innovation in the Yukon.

“I want to thank the parliamentary delegation for their visit and for the meaningful conversations we had. I look forward to building on this connection and continuing to strengthen our ties with Japan and the rest of Canada.”
