Statement from Premier Pillai on Canadian Jewish Heritage Month

Premier Pillai has issued the following statement:

“As we observe Canadian Jewish Heritage Month this May, let us take time to reflect on the profound and lasting contributions that Jewish Canadians make to the cultural, social and economic fabric of the Yukon and Canada.

“Jewish Canadians have played a pivotal role in shaping our shared history, from contributing to the arts, sciences and business, to standing at the forefront of social justice and human rights. The Jewish community has long been a cornerstone of Canadian diversity, enriching our society through their traditions, values and commitment to fostering a more inclusive, compassionate nation.

“Since 2012, the Jewish Cultural Society of Yukon has played a vital role in bringing Jewish Yukoners together, celebrating culture, sharing traditions and preserving the rich history of Jewish people in our territory.

“On behalf of all Yukoners, I extend my deepest gratitude to the Jewish community for its immense contributions and unwavering commitment to building a brighter, more inclusive Yukon for generations to come.”
