Statement from Premier Pillai on Father’s Day

Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:

“This Sunday, we honour the many ways fathers and father figures enrich our lives, offering strength, kindness and presence in both quiet and defining moments.

“Whether it’s teaching, listening, passing on cultural knowledge, being a good role model or offering steady support, the impact fathers and father figures have is deep and lasting on young people and the broader community.

“We also acknowledge that for many, Father’s Day can be a difficult time. We remember loved ones lost and acknowledge that some relationships can be complex. To those Yukoners who are navigating grief or hardship on this day, my thoughts are with you as well.

“To all those who take on this role with care and commitment, thank you. On behalf of the Government of Yukon, we wish everyone a meaningful and heartfelt Father’s Day.”
