Statement from Premier Pillai on Filipino Heritage Month

Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement:

“As we enter the month of June, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to the Yukon Filipino community as we celebrate Filipino Heritage Month.

“With over 1,900 Filipinos living in the Yukon, this month is a time to celebrate and recognize the strength, creativity and heart of the Filipino community. It is an opportunity to honour their contributions, traditions and history.

“The Filipino community in the Yukon is vibrant and actively engaged in a wide range of cultural, social and community-building activities, whether it be Canada Day participation or the Christmas festival of lights.

“I encourage all Yukoners to participate in the various events and activities organized during Filipino Heritage Month.

“Maraming salamat at maligayang pagdiriwang – mabuhay!”
