Statement from Premier Pillai on the passing of Frances Gus’Duteen Woolsey

Premier Ranj Pillai has issued the following statement: 

"It is with deep sadness that I mark the passing of Frances Gus’Duteen Woolsey (nee Clethero) on February 28, 2024, at the age of 92.
 
"While Frances’ career and contributions in the Yukon are significant, spanning several decades of advocacy for the animals, land and king salmon, children and families, health and wellness, and the preservation of Yukon First Nations culture and self-governance, I remember her as a friend and mentor with whom I spent memorable times travelling throughout our territory.
 
"My colleagues and I send our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Woolsey’s friends, family, and the Ta'an Kwach'an Council."
