The Government of Yukon is pleased to welcome the federal announcement that the Little Gold Creek port of entry will be open for an additional four weeks this summer season.
Located at the Top of the World Highway near Dawson City, this border crossing will open on Friday, May 17, and remain open until Sunday, September 15. Seasonal hours of operation will be from 9 am to 7 pm (Yukon Time), seven days a week. Yukoners are reminded that Yukon time is one hour ahead of Alaska.
The extended season will allow travellers to use the crossing during the long weekends in May and September. All these changes will apply in future years.

The Little Gold Creek border crossing is widely used by Yukoners and travellers alike to experience Dawson City and our incredible northern landscapes. Extending the season means more time for tourists to enjoy the midnight sun. The Little Gold Creek port of entry, the northernmost border crossing in North America, serves miners, tourists and locals travelling between Alaska and Canada. Over 11,000 travellers entered Canada here last summer.
Situated 105 kilometres west of Dawson City on the Top of the World Highway, the port closes during winter.
To expedite processing, travellers should have their travel documents ready, whether they're arriving by land, air or water.
All travellers must declare goods upon entry into Canada. Returning residents should have receipts for items purchased or received abroad. Travellers carrying firearms should consult the Canada Border Services Agency website for import rules on firearms and other restricted items.
The George Black Ferry operational schedule is dependent on environmental conditions.
