The Yukon’s acting Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Catherine Elliott is reporting the death of one Yukon resident from COVID-19. This brings the total to 21 deaths due to COVID-19 since the first death was reported in October 2020.

Out of respect for the individuals and their families, we will not be releasing any additional information.

My sincere condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the individual. Each loss the Yukon experiences from this virus is a tragedy.

Quick facts
  • A death is attributed to COVID-19 when COVID-19 is the cause of death or is a contributing factor. This verification is important because severe outcomes and morbidity are key indicators that inform guidance and decision-making to manage public health in response to COVID-19.
