Applications for Tier 2 of the Economic Development Fund are now available through the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Culture’s online funding portal.
The portal provides an easier way for applicants to submit and manage funding requests. Through a single account, applicants can complete applications, upload supporting documents and track the progress of their submissions.
Eligible applicants include businesses, First Nations governments, municipalities, industry associations and not-for-profit organizations that meet program requirements.
Applicants are encouraged to connect with an advisor to discuss project ideas, eligibility requirements and the online application process.
Tier 2 funding supports projects requesting between $30,001 and $100,000.
The introduction of online applications is part of the Government of Yukon's ongoing commitment to modernize funding programs, improve service delivery and reduce administrative burden for applicants.
To support a consistent application process, all Tier 2 applications must now be submitted through the online portal.
The Economic Development Fund supports projects that provide economic benefits to Yukoners and their communities, including business innovation and planning, economic diversification and expansion and the development of new markets and investment attraction.

The program is transitioning to an online application system for all Economic Development Fund tiers as part of broader service improvements and modernization efforts to make it easier for applicants to access funding programs and reduce red tape.

Additional Economic Development Fund tiers will be added to the online funding portal over time. Updates will be provided.

Applications for Tier 2 funding must be submitted by September 15, 2026.

The fund offers three funding tiers.
- Tier 1: Applications for funding under $30,000 (Applications can be submitted at any time.)
- Tier 2: Applications for funding from $30,001 to $100,000 (The deadlines are September 15, 2026, and April 15, 2027.)
- Tier 3: Applications for funding from $100,001 to $500,000 (The deadline is January 15, 2027.)
