Anticipatory service disruptions notice

Pelly Crossing Health Centre is now anticipating the following service disruptions from April 30 at 4:30 pm to May 21 at 4:30 pm due to staffing shortages.

April 30 to May 5 at 12 pm:

  • There will be one nurse in the community and the health centre will be open during regular hours, but for emergencies only. The nurse and a Yukon Emergency Medical Services Primary Care paramedic will also be available for emergency coverage after hours.
  • For emergencies call 867-821-4444, pick up the phone outside the health centre or dial 911.
  • Call 811, which is available 24/7 for advice and support for non-emergency issues.

May 5 at 12 pm to May 9 at 8 am:

  • There is no nurse in the community. A Yukon Emergency Medical Services Primary Care paramedic is stationed in Pelly Crossing for emergency coverage.
  • For emergencies call 911.
  • For non-emergency health questions, call 811, open 24/7 for advice and support.

May 9 to May 21:

  • There will be one nurse in the community and the health centre will be open during regular hours, but for emergencies only. The nurse and a Yukon Emergency Medical Services Primary Care paramedic will also be available for emergency coverage after hours.

Services
Walk-in/outpatient clinic for primary care including dispensing specific medications and 24-hour emergency services including responding to highway accidents with ambulance.
Community health programs include: maternal-child, well woman, school health, chronic disease follow-up, geriatric, home visiting, heath education and promotion, immunization, adult health and communicable disease.
Treatment programs include visiting doctor clinics and referrals.
Activities include: immunization clinics, prenatal classes, postnatal care, and school health clinics.
